About a week after this year’s highly racialized presidential race the Applied Research Center will be holding their annual conference Facing Race in Oakland, CA.

From November 13-15 there will be programs and events that will examine racial issues and connections.  The keynote speaker is Sherman Alexie author of The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven which was made into the movie Smoke Signals.  His current book The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a national book award winner.

Early bird registration ends today but there is still time to register for the conference.
