Children Gassed at Dayton Mosque
A disturbing story coming out of Dayton.
A 10 year old girl was sprayed in the face with a chemical while observing Ramadan at her Mosque. But the police say she wasn’t a victim of a hate crime.
The girl was watching children in the basement of the mosque when she noticed two men standing outside of the window. One of the men sprayed something into the open window. The girl reported to the police that she felt a burning on her face and sick to her stomach.
From the Dayton Daily News:
“The men didn’t say anything to her (before she was sprayed),” Biehl said. “There was nothing left at the scene or anything that makes us believe this is a biased crime.”…
“Whatever chemical was released it dissipated too quickly for us to determine what it was,” Bristow said. “We can test for about 130 to 140 chemicals, including pepper spray, and all our tests came back negative.”
Basically because the men didn’t use pejoratives their actions can’t be considered a hate crime. Nice.
Many people at the Mosque feel that the attack was sparked by a “DVD about Islamic radicalism titled “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West” that was mailed to area homes by its producers and circulated as a paid advertisement with more than 70 newspapers, including the Dayton Daily News.”
