Cao in the News
With all the focus on Jindal and Steele I forgot all about Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao. You would think since the GOP has been flossin’ their colors they would bring them all out but it looks like they forgot about him.
Maybe it’s that little joke Cao last night to the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.
“Don’t tell the Republicans, but I might be a closet Democrat,” said Cao.
Or maybe it’s because Eric Cantor (R-Va.) had to show Cao why they call him the “Whip” when Cao let it drop he just might vote for the stimulus bill the second time around.
His towing party line is getting his constituents back home up in arms. He represents a mostly Democratic district and because of his vote on the stimulus bill two weeks ago (which he was whipped into voting for) two ministers in Louisiana are trying to recall him.
Rev. Aubry Wallace of Marrero heads the recall committee and says they have already gathered over 8,000 signatures. “This is going to be a successful effort,” Marrero said.
With barely a month on the job, Cao said,”If they are allowed to do it by law, then that’s their right… I am concentrating on the rebuilding of Louisiana, and I invite them to be part of my team and part of the solution.”
