Brighter Days by The Beau Alquizola Band.

The Beau Alquizola Band

I really love this song.  Unfortunately,  it’s not one of the free songs you can download from his Facebook site.  But it is on his upcoming CD, “Wedding’s in Louisville”  which will be available this Saturday.

This is the band’s 3rd studio album and they are back with a more alternative rock/folk drive (think Gin Blossoms mixed with Ani DiFranco tinged with Simon and Garfunkel  ).  His previous two albums were more acoustic and, in his words, more personal.

“A lot of the songs on the first couple albums only I would understand something about,” Alquizola said.  “On this one everyone can relate to them.  There’s other stories to be told; songs on this album are my observations.”

Like the story of a young woman who has an affair with her college professor (Teacher) or a band that’s on the wedding circuit (Wedding’s in Louisville).

Well, maybe that last one hits a little bit close to home.

In the interest of full disclosure Beau and keyboardist Sharon Udoh are two friends of mine.  Rounding out the group are J. Matt Retherford (drums), Ben Schummer (guitar/background vocals), Noah Diamond (bass) and Joan Schneder (background vocalist).

If you liked the pressed then check them out this Saturday 24 Apr at Molly Malone’s Irish Pub in Covington, KY to see why they are known as  Cincinnati’s Best live band.
